About the job:
Freestyle+ is seeking a Head of Product to lead the product development of Flowzone, the first mobile app that combines games, storytelling, and improvisation techniques to create good mental fitness habits applied to life at work.
The Head of Product will own and lead the product implementation and work closely with our Content, Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure continued improvement and long-term success. This is a full-time, salaried position.
The Head of Engineering will be responsible for:
● Managing the software development team, which includes hiring, training, mentoring, and motivating the team members.
● Defining the technical strategy for Flowzone which includes identifying the right tools, technologies, and methodologies that the team will use to develop software.
● Designing the technical architecture of the software systems. This includes making sure that the architecture is scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
● Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of the software development projects related to Flowzone. This includes coordinating with other functions such as product management, content development, user experience, and quality assurance to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
● Ensuring that the software developed meets the quality standards set by the organization. This includes implementing processes for testing, code review, and quality assurance.
● Ensuring that the technical team is keeping a strong process of documentation for all aspects of the development.
● Being the liaison between the technical team and the product team.
● At the onset, helping transition the current MVP product into a commercially available product. This transition includes transitioning the development from the existing external team to the new internal team.
● Helping build and lead a multi-disciplinary and distributed team of diverse talent to ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap.
● Promoting innovation within the software development team. This includes encouraging experimentation with new technologies, processes, and methodologies to continuously improve the team's capabilities.
The following qualifications are required of any applicant:
● Over 15 years of experience in technical leadership roles for B2B SaaS companies in fast-growth environments.
● A deep understanding of software development principles and best practices including implementing software systems using a variety of programming languages, frameworks and tools.
● A successful track record of building and scaling commercially successful applications that use a combination of media such as video, audio, and games to delight users and meet their needs. Experience in developing mobile applications is a big plus. Experience in developing applications for learning, skill-building, and/or gamification is a super big plus.
● Proven experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary and fully-remote teams of technical talent.
● Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex technical problems under tight deadlines and limited resources.
● Proven experience in understanding the business objectives of the organization and aligning the technical strategy of the product with those objectives.
● Exceptional written and oral communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
● A track record of continually learning and keeping up with the latest trends in software development and technology.
● Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to partner with a wide variety of other functions and levels.

● Improv experience, whether as a student, performer or teacher - and if not improv, a performing art that incorporates storytelling, music or humor a MAJOR PLUS!
● Skilled at resolving conflict and negotiating effectively and tactfully.
